STAIN PROTECTION & TREATMENT
Contrary to popular belief, natural and engineered stones are porous and will absorb
stains if they are left unattended.
Recommendations for cleaning Stains
- Prevention is better than cure – as soon as a spill occurs, use a paper towel to
clean it up. Avoid spreading the spill
- Wash the area with clean water and a neutral soap a few times until the stain is
not visible any more
- If the stain still remains, it would need to be treated differently depending upon
what caused the stain
The Marble Institute of America (www.marble-institute.com) has extensive information
on a variety of stains and how to remove them. If you find that removing a stain
is proving to be too difficult, contact your fabricator or installer for recommendations
as well.
